Dear Vandenberg School Community:
Vandenberg’s annual “Parade of Costumes” will be on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 2:45 p.m. If your child wishes to wear a costume, he/she should come to school dressed in it already. Class time will not be provided for dressing or adjusting costumes. If your child’s costume is elaborate and may be uncomfortable to wear for a normal school day, please consider creating a costume that will be more suitable for school purposes.
We ask that you observe the following guidelines:
- Please do not send accessories associated with violence or those which may distract your child or others during learning time (fake weapons, long fingernails, holsters, etc.)
- Masks are permitted during the parade ONLY. They will not be permitted during the regular school day.
- Please refrain from using heavy makeup or face paint. After a short time in school it tends to get rubbed off onto costumes or becomes very irritating to the skin.
- Please do not send candy to school in your student’s lunch after Halloween.
Sincerely,
Lisa Hughes
Principal
Families are welcome to join us on the front sidewalk to view the parade. For the safety and security of our students, there will be no early dismissal on this day. Please pick up your student’s at their dismissal doors. Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to seeing you there!
